The Yine Project heralds an exciting new stage of community-based ecotourism by Pantiacolla Tours, with the Yine indians of the Peruvian Manu Biosphere Reserve rainforest. The ten-year project, to build an eco-lodge and train the Yine people to run it, began early in 2001. In 2011, the eco-lodge will be handed over to the Yine. Over this period, the Yine Project will welcome volunteers who can help with the various educational programmes.

What It Is All About describes the project and its aims.

Benefits of the Yine Project explains how the Yine indians are benefitting as well as the added effects of how they are now contributing to the conservation of the rainforest.

Yine Indians talks about their history.

Yine Heritage describes their medicinal plants, ecological-sound agriculture, their music and handicrafts.

Yine Interviews gives you a flavour of how the Yine people live, what they eat, their belief systems, medicine, music, festivals etc plus how they themselves see various aspects of the project.

Tours & Activities describes how you can experience the Yine culture yourself, (organised by Pantiacolla Tours); stay at the Yine Lodge and take part in a variety of activities offered by the Yine indians.

Glossary gives you a fast reference to definitions of terms used throughout this website.

If you are interested, why not sign up for the Yine newsletter. This provides up-to-date information on the educational projects underway and the volunteers involved.
